ALTURA Post-construction cleaning isn't one clean — it's three, each with its own timing and checklist. Miss a phase or compress them together and you either clean the same surfaces twice or hand over a space that fails punch walk. Here's the checklist we run on post-construction cleaning projects across Atlanta.
Phase 1 — Rough Clean
Runs while trades are still finishing. The goal is a safe, workable site and a head start on dust: remove bulk debris and packaging, sweep and shop-vac floors, scrape stickers, mortar, and overspray from glass and hard surfaces, knock down drywall dust from ledges and sills, and clear window tracks. Nothing gets polished at this stage — it will get dirty again, and that's fine.
Phase 2 — Final Clean
The heavy lift, after trades are out. Every surface, top down: high dusting of vents, fixtures, and ledges; interior windows, tracks, and frames; cabinets and drawers inside and out; appliances inside and out; countertops and backsplashes; full bathroom detail including fixture polish and label removal; baseboards and door frames; switch plates and hardware; floors vacuumed, mopped, or machine-scrubbed by surface type. This is the phase inspections are won or lost on.
Phase 3 — Pre-Turnover Polish
After punch-list trades have been back through. Touch-up dusting, glass smudge removal, floor spot cleaning, and a fixture wipe-down so the space shows perfectly at handoff. It's a short visit that protects everything phase two accomplished.
